LOOK’s new make up range!

Our friends at LOOK magazine are launching a beauty range this weekend at Westfield Stratford City.

The new cosmetics range Look Beauty, the range will be sold in 200 Superdrug stores nationwide, and raise money for Look Good…Feel Better, the national cancer charity helping women with visible side-effects of their treatment.

The collection, which includes nail polishes, eyeshadows and lipsticks in high fashion colours, is sure to be a big hit when unveiled on September 17 and rolling out nationwide in October.

We’ll be sure to check out the range this Saturday at The Look Show and let you know what we think!

In the mean time, we popped over to LOOK to see them preparing for the show on Saturday.  Check out the video:

The fairest of them all: extra virgin mineral make up

We all know the benefits of olive oil and most of us have been converted to mineral make up so The Body Shop has struck gold with its new range.  The eco friendly store is launching an Extra Virgin Minerals collection which will include a cream compact foundation (£16) and a liquid foundation (£14).  This is the first time The Body Shop has ventured into mineral make up and they’re going the extra mile by using ultra fine mineral pigments and 100% community fair trade pure cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil.

Bobbi Brown & Tibi: A match made in heaven

We love a good collaboration and when two beautiful brands come together we get very excited.   Young but hugely pupular brand Tibi has teamed up with one of our favourite make-up brands, Bobbi Brown, to create a collection for Spring 2011.

Bobbi’s favourite flower, the Peony, inspired the delicate pastels and edgy grays in a stylish little case designed by Tibi. The colour combination is simply gorgeous and we are fighting over who is going to get to test this one out over at Westfield HQ.

MAC Wonder Woman Collection

When we heard back in July that MAC had partnered with DC Comics for a collection we were super excited. We’re even more super excited to report that the MAC Wonder Woman collection for Spring 2011 will be in stores from 3 March.  Super!

“Wonder Woman is psychological propaganda for the new type of woman who should, I believe, rule the world,” creator William Moulton Marston once wrote of his super heroine.

With her strength, animal cunning, physical prowess and super-agility she is as much an icon for the modern day woman as she was for women in the early 1940s, when she first leapt onto the screen with her lasso of truth and indestructible bracelets.  While we don’t have the bracelets a coat of red lipstick always does the trick for a sense of empowerment and thwarting of enemies.

So here are the pieces from the collection, our new secret weapon:

Wonder Woman nail colour in Obey Me and Spirit of Truth, £10.00;  Wonder Woman lipglass in Athena’s Kiss, £17, and lipstick in Russian Red, £20.

Wonder Woman penultimate eyeliner in Rapid Black, £17.50;  Opulash in Army of Amazons and Victorious, £14.50.

Wonder Woman Valiant eyeshadow set, £36.00;  Utility belt face brush set, £39.50.

All available to buy at MAC Westfield London from 3 March.

If I can’t go to the spa, the spa will come to me…

Yesterday morning, after I’d made my way into the office, shaken the rain out of my hair and tried to calm down the pinkness of my wind-bitten face I was faced with an image of a dewy glowy looking women lying down looking ridiculously relaxed with a towel wrapped round her head and rocks on her back.

The image from Champneys new Marbella Resort stayed with me most of the day and made me spend most of my lunch break looking up weekend breaks and retreats so I too could have rocks on my back and glow.

This morning I discovered that Champneys is launching a new Mediterranean Bliss range for Boots in celebration of the new Marbella spa very soon.  While there are no rocks on offer they do have a selection of bath and body products which may just do the trick.  Until that holiday gets booked, of course.

Topshop make up for SS11 unveiled

Last night we caught a sneak peak of Topshop’s Spring Summer make-up collection amid cocktails and canapes at the Sanderson hotel in London.  The collection, named ‘Sandstorm’ which includes bronzed, sandy colours alongside neon bright colours is just what we needed to get us in the mood for Spring.

The nail colours in particular could form your entire Spring Summer nail-drobe.  Our personal favourite is a near nude nail polish called ‘No Love Lost’ but the bright orange and reds are definitely ones we’d keep handy for more adventurous days.  The nail colours also come in handy little nail duos which create a marbling effect when used together.

The lipsticks in bright neon colours are one of the hottest trends for the season. Don’t shy away from trying out something a little bold.  Our personal favourite is ‘Infared’, a dazzling burnt orange shade.

We’re also pretty excited by the ‘Dessert Sun’ cheek duo which gives that subtle sunkissed look followed by blusher in ‘Head Over Heels’ is our shade of choice which adds that little touch of colour.

The collection comes to Topshop this month.  Prices range from £5 -£12.

Miss Portman is Miss Dior

There’s something about Natalie Portman.  She’s clearly stunning but also has this strange elusive quality and an intelligence and grace that just makes her so endearing. (Yes, we have a massive style crush on her.)  It’s that, plus the dance skills that took a year of intensive ballet training to achieve, that make her the ideal lead in Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan and make her the perfect ambassador for Christian Dior.

Despite once saying she had “an aversion to selling things” Natalie has broken her own rules to be part of their Miss Dior Cherie campaign because of the non-profit work that Dior do.

Here’s a glimpse of the new campaign shots for Miss Dior Cherie and keep an eye out for the TV commercial directed by Sofia Coppola.

Miss Dior Cherie is available to buy at House of Fraser £60.50 for 50 ml. Black Swan is out in cinemas from January 20th.

Clinique kiss it better: New lip glosses for charity

We love Clinique lip glosses. They make lips look shiny and juicy without being too gloopy and they come in gorgeous colours. We’re big fans of their latest range of Vitamin C Lip Smoothie Antioxidant lip colours coming in  Pink Me Up (that’s pink to you an me), Mango-thon (pinky orange), Goodness Grapecious, (dark pink), and Nude-tricious (you get the idea). These look great while nourishing our poor London-weather-batttered lips which could certainly do with a bit of nutrition.

Now Clinique has created a limited edition Smoothie Kisses Lip Gloss Set,  which includes all four glosses, and is part of a campaign with Great Ormond Street Hospital to raise money for children with cancer called Kiss It Better.

The  glosses are available exclusively to House of Fraser at  a price of £22.50 for the set, with £4 donated to the Kiss It better Appeal (£2 from Clinique and £2 from House of Fraser), so you can enjoy sumptuous lips while donating to a very worthy cause.

Get the Look: Frozen Diamond

The wintry weather means we’ve certainly got the whole “frozen” look down to a T but red noses and chapped lips are not exactly the way forward.  So when we saw The Make Up Store’s Frozen Diamond collection we thought, ooh, that’s a bit more like it.

The collection - which consists of glosses, shimmers, turquoise and green eyeshadows and eye dusts, glittering shimmers for face and lips – makes for a look which is all pale ice queen with frosted eyes and pink wind-bitten lips and cheeks.

The look calls for porcelain skin with delicate rosy cheeks (so step away from the bronzer).  Mineral microshadows and eye dusts can be used dry or wet for either a subtle or more striking look, combined with the sheen for temples, cheeks and lips.

But the icing on the cake is the Sparkling Diamond, a multifunctional shimmer for lips, eyes and cheeks.  For lips,  finish this look with the lipgloss in ‘frozen’ adding an understated sheen.    Finally, if you want to acheive a real ‘Narnia’ look add their false eyelashes with crystals.

Left to right:  Eyedust in Brilliance and Paragon, £11; High tech lighter, £15; Microshadow in Vertigo, £11
