As we walk past the shop fronts this week we can’t help but feel like we’ve taken a step back in time and into the coutryside. Stores are filled with gorgeous summery maxi dresses in the style of Sophia Loren circa 1978.

So we’ve raided the shops and fished out the best picks of this trend, whatever the budget

Go floral for Spring with Oasis

With the ‘Sale’ signs coming down it’s definitely time to start planning our Spring/Summer wardrobe.   Oasis are coming up trumps with some gorgeous girly floral dresses that we can see ourselves merrily strolling through the streets of London in. As long as it doesn’t rain.  Rain-soaked florals: not a good look. Here’s our pick of the bunch.

Piped Floral Print dress, £45.00;  Blue floral dress, £TBC; Graceful flower print shift dress, £60.00; all Oasis.

And here’s a peak at our favourite one as modelled in their campaign. So pretty!

Spend Or Save? Stripes And Florals

Stripes and florals are two of our favourite things over here at Westfield HQ, so when we saw Stella McCartney’s flower striped dress, we fell instantly in love. It’s one of those perfect trans-seasonal pieces – great with tights now and even better with bare legs and ankle boots once those warmer days arrive. Admittedly at £545, it’s not the bargain of the century, but you do pay for quality.

Imagine our surprise then to find that Next had quickly jumped on the floral/striped bandwagon with their tribute to Stella’s dress. At £35, it’s certainly a lot cheaper but we’re not sure if it’s quite up to Stella’s version? What do you think? Which one would you prefer to buy?

Which wins your vote? The Stella McCartney dress on the left or the Next version on the right?
