Gold metallic trousers

If your wardrobe turns from bright to dull the minute the seasons change what you need in your life is a pair of gold trousers.   We’ve missed metallic colours for the last few seasons so it was nice to see a bit of metal back on the catwalks particularly in the form of gold trousers. The inspiration is Balmain for Autumn/Winter 2010 but we’re loving Reiss’s 80s inspired gold skinnies and River Island’s subtler take on the trend in the form of dark gold jeans.

Pixie Lott for Lipsy

We’re so chuffed that Lipsy is opening in Westfield London today. Get yourself down there for launch goodies and fun! The timing is perfect as Pixie Lott’s new collection for the high street fashion brand has just landed.

There are two distinct looks in her collection – Pixie Rocks and Pixie Party. If you’re feeling a bit ‘rock chick’, you’ll love Pixie’s biker jackets, leather skirts and stud detailing on a number of pieces. If you’re feeling a bit more girly, look out for the Pixie Party prom dresses and pretty evening dresses with cute details like bows, lace and ruffles.

Pixie Lott says:  “I’m having such great fun turning my style ideas into an actual fashion range so am really excited to be launching my second collection with Lipsy. This time I’ve taken inspiration from some of my favourite style icons like Bridget Bardot and Edie Sedgwick and what I love to wear out with my friends.”

Celebrity Trend: Leather Luxe

Ever since Angelina Jolie walked down the red carpet this summer looking sensational in a Michael Kors leather dress, leather has been the must-wear fabric. Since then, celebrities such as Kate Moss and Kylie Minogue have also gone hell for leather, which means a leather dress is on the top of most fashionista’s wishlist.

However, unlike the A-list, you might not have the cash to splash on super expensive versions, so we’ve scoured the high street to find three of the best leather dresses to buy – which start from £100 and go up to £299.

New Look, £100; Oasis, £120; Hobbs, £299

With leather, it’s best to spend the most you can afford, as you want the best quality fabric to ensure you look like a superstar and not cheap and tacky! Keep accessories to minimum – high heels are essential but don’t overload the jewellery.
