The new face of Miu Miu is 14-year-old Hailee Steinfeld

At the beginning of 2010, few people had heard of Hailee Steinfeld.  Then her breakthrough role in True Grit, for which she was picked from 15,000 girls, bagged her an Academy Award nomination. The 14-year-old became a red carpet sensation over night, wowing the style savvy with her red carpet style.

After she attended Miu Miu ‘s autumn/winter 2011 show in Paris, and was later photographed pictured wearing the designer’s threads head-to-toe to the Berlin Film Festival in February and the Baftas (both pictured below), rumours started circulating.  Today Miu Miu confirmed that Hailee Steinfeld would indeed be the new face of the brand.

First pictures are due to be released in August. Previous campaigns have featured actresses Katie Holmes, Kirsten Dunst and Lindsay Lohan.

Spend or save: print platforms?

If you’re looking for a statement shoe, then these could be the ones for you. The Miu Miu bird print platform will definitely make you stand out from the crowd. Here at Westfield HQ we think they’re fabulous, but opinion is divided.

Animal print is everywhere for A/W 2010 and we don’t just mean leopard print. You’ll find plenty of animal motifs around too – sheep, cats, horses, puppy dogs and more. Miu Miu embraced the bird print and you’ll see it across the collection. These platform shoes are chunky yet cute, but they’ve sold quickly. If you have £395 to spend on these divine heels, you’ll need to hotfoot it to get your pair fast.
