The Very Best of Versace for H&M. On your marks…

We’ve been counting down the days till the launch of the collection since the announcement of the Versace and H&M collaboration back in June.  Donatella Versace herself said it would be iconic and quintissentially Versace and the collection lives up to it. Featuring bold Versace prints alongside more classic, timeless pieces this has to be the most exciting designer/high street collaboration yet.

Versace for H&M: classic silver and black

Versace for H&M: bold colour

So, with just two more days to go we’ve been meticulously planning our purchases.   Do we go for brash, bright classic Versace or more understated garments with staying power? The black silk dress with Versace logo buttons worn by Helena Christensen is one of our faves.

Take a look at some of our other top picks:  The Very Best of Versace for H&M.

Of course once the decisions are made, the question is, how do we make sure we get our hands on the ones we want. Experience proves that these collaborations sell out within moments and no doubt 17 November will be a frenzy at stores.  For the H&M stores at Westfield centres there will be a queuing system in place whereby the first 280 people in the queue can shop from the women’s designer collection only.  Then, after the first two hours, the designer area will open to all customers.  So, if you want your pick of the bunch, make sure you’re one of the first in the queue.

Which pieces are you on your wish list?

H&M collaboration will be quintissential, iconic Versace

This morning’s news that Versace is the latest high fashion designer to team up with H&M has got us very excited indeed.  The past collaborations, such as those with with Jimmy Choo, Karl Lagerfeld and Lanvin, have been a huge success and we can’t wait to see the capsule collection which will be launched later this year.

While Donatella Versace had previously said a diffusion line for H&M was not something she wanted to do, she says this collection is going to be more of an iconic collection inspired by ‘the heritage of the brand’ -  likely to include plenty of colour, loud prints and leather.

Donatella gave us a taste of what’s to come when she wore one of the designs from the collectionto the Versace men’s show in Milan yesterday and talked about the collection being “quintissential Versace, perfect for H&M and Versace fans everywhere”.

Go Nude This Spring!

Don’t panic! We’re not suggesting you roam around in your birthday suit, rather that you embrace the new nude tones for the new season.

Donna Karan, Givenchy and Burberry all showed a plethora of nude shades on the catwalk and as ever, the most fashionable of celebrities have already umped on the flesh tone bandwagon.

Penelope Cruz chose a gorgeous figure-hugging Armani Prive dress for the Italian premiere of Nine, while Drew chose a dramatic dress from Atelier Versace for The Golden Globes. And it’s not just big Hollywood stars who have embraced this trend – Cheryl Cole stepped out looking stunning at a recent German music award show in a stunning Maz Azria dress.

Don’t worry if you haven’t got a spare £4,000 lying around (the cost of Cheryl’s dress apparently), as the high street is being quick to interpret this trend and has already started producing some gorgeous nude delights.

We’ve picked three of our favourites around at the moment, and as this is a trend that is sure to be a super summer hit, we recommend you invest now. Wear a nude coloured dress with black tights or team a flesh-toned jacket with faded skinnies – this is one look that will take you to and beyond the summer months with ease.
